Scan Kerb – a new generation of concrete kerbs. Scan kerb is a “stick down” kerb that has many advantages over traditional concrete kerbs:

Scan Kerb has been used for many years in Scandinavia, through the harshest of weather conditions. It is Highways Agency approved (section 1101 paragraph 2 of Highway Works) and has been used within a number of applications, such as:

Scan kerb is now a widely accepted method for concrete kerbing, whether it be new, refurbishment or temporary works, from town centre traffic islands, to major A roads and even motorway maintenance. Scan Kerb has been used and specified throughout all areas of the UK.
Scan Kerb FAQ’s
Q. Can Scan Kerb be used in permanent situations as well as temporary?
A. Yes, as long as properly applied and extra Scan Strip adhesive used where necessary on uneven surfaces.
Q. How long after applying Scan Kerb does the adhesive take to set?
A. Generally around 15-30 minutes, as soon as it cools it is stuck.
Q. Is it possible to remove Scan Kerb at a later date?
A. Yes, but not easily. It is designed to withstand static push-off load of 10 kN/m applied parallel, so will require a mechanical device, such as an excavator with bucket, to shift it.
Q. What standards does Scan Kerb comply with?
A. Scan Kerb is produced to EN 1338, EN 1339 & EN 1340.
Q. Does the Highways Authority approve Scan Kerb?
A. Yes, see specification for Highway Works – Series 1100 – Volume 1 – 11/06.
Q. Can Scan Kerb be supplied coloured?
A. Scan Kerb can be supplied with an epoxy coloured coating and also, if required, with a Beadalite reflective finish.
Q. Is Scan Kerb suitable for segregating Cycle Lanes from traffic?
A. The Scan Kerb Type GCM was designed with this in mind, also the Type B Half Battered profile is equally suitable where it can be back filled.
Q. Can Traffic Islands be formed using Scan Kerb?
A. Yes, our website contains several different designs that have been used over many years.
Q. Does Scan Kerb come in a full range similar to that of BS HB2 Kerbs?
A. Yes, the Scan Kerb Type B & A comes with a range of different radii, Angles and Droppers.
Q. Is the product available from stock?
A. A comprehensive range is stocked at our Colnbrook holding depot so can either be collected or delivered to anywhere in the country, generally within 3-4 days.
Q. Is there a minimum order value or pack quantity?
A. Although Scan Kerb is better shipped in full pallets we will supply any quantity required.

A. 1. Scan Kerb requires no removal of spoil from site therefore minimising material to landfill. 2. Scan Kerb does not require any heavy plant to install as most units weigh less than 25kg. 3.
